EXAMS ARE OVER!!! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

First thing I did when I got home was to bake my Federer( Tennis Player) Fan Friend (FFF) a birthday cake! Poor kiddo's birthday is today but he has one more paper to go on Saturday so no celebrations just yet!

I turned an orange zest cake into a Swiss flag!! (Federer is Swiss) It's definitely not executed to a chef's standard but not bad at all (so I tell myself) for doing it under time constraint and right after pulling an all night-er for exams.

Most importantly I hope the birthday boy enjoys his cake!

You know you have left your blog dead for way too long when you cant seem to remember your password to log in to your blog!!!! so much has happened since I last blogged, way too much to recap. But I assure you there are lots more new things to talk about so this blog has a chance at revival. I have finally begun working on my desire to paint. I have taken up acrylic painting. Currently I have exams (although SWEET freedom in 3 days beckon) but I will begin again during the hols.

My take on this new venture is " I may not have the drawing skills, but my ability to dream and imagine allows me to produce the pieces that I do"

Other than art I have been a little too indulgent in food if you ask me, this is yet another project for the upcoming holidays. I need to learn how to eat 2 and a half good ,healthy filling meals and stay away from in between meals and all those sugar filled junk! And I am saying this as I pop another gummy bear into my mouth, studying fuel I call it, so in 3 days no more excuses and no more candy!!

I guess time does heal...but HOW long? we will never know.... 2 weeks has passed but the emotions still run strong... I think when the hustle and bustle and running around comes to an end, and your mind and body gets hit by the hard truth, the scabs of the healing wound are picked away and the sore is fresh once again....

Hang in there Ma (my aunt) Mum, and mama's (uncles), and most of al NANA (grandma) I know now that each and everyone of you are apart and thrown back into your usual lives..your healing and adjustment process will begin once again ...hang in there!

Yesterday we got the dreaded SMS...."CMama has gone home to be with the Lord at 3.15"

He was sick for the past month, but he had his siblings there with him through out the entire ordeal and my Grandma saw him just before he passed and said her last goodbye while he could still hear....Lord I thank you for his life and I pray that he may be at peace now. To know that he is in a better place gives me great comfort.

This is a message I left for him on his webpage:

Dearest Pa, It is still very hard to comprehend that you are no longer with us. Was looking foward to seeing you at the end of the year and also to tell you how good the book you lent me was. Although we didn't spend a lot of time together as I grew older and moved to Penang,the times we did spend together when you came to Penang or When I went to KL I will never forget. You treated me to good food in lovely restraunts whenever you took us out,and after each treat you would remind me of the importance of studying hard and working towards my goals; and how happy you were to see me do well. The picture of me when I was two,sitting on your lap with the boys will always remind me of you, and how you loved us all so much! Take care my dearest Mama....I know you are in a better place now and that makes me smile.

Well THIS IS IT! I think I have mentioned this a few times before in the blog, and now my weight gain is bugging me! 12kg's is a LOT...and I am running out of clothes to wear! my jeans are cutting into my skin...I have only a choice of two bottoms, and not many tops...sitting too long makes it hard to breathe because my stomach is just in the way! so yeah THIS IS IT! no no not the new Micheal Jackson movie, BUT I need to do something!

thus, I am taking on a week of a controlled diet and 3 times a week of exercise and NO snacking!

I cooked up a HUMONGOUS batch of porridge full of cabbage,carrots and fat-less,skinless breast meat chicken..
that is all I am going to eat for lunch and dinner. Breakfast will be cereal OR apple and milk or something along those lines..NO MORE BREAD! NO MORE SUGAR!

If I need a snack, it will be fruit or a sugarless malt drink.

I really need to stick to this diet because my current state is absolutely unacceptable! I can blame the medications..I can blame it on a disorder(binge eating, emotional eating) BUT I am surely not going to sit around and let it work its course...I have to at least do something about it... I only have a month and a bit till I go home...clock is ticking!

DAY 1 - FAIL
Everything went smoothly, up until I couldn't resist and had a piece of lemon cake well after dinner time!

Today my uncle and aunt had to entertain some friends, who had their birthdays..so we went out for Japanese food..that is not all......I had cake again!! Birthday cake this time...they insisted I take some..and I caved IN!

Well again I have left this blog un-updated for way too long....

Anyways, lately I have gotten the cooking bug, and usually it's comfort food that I naturally miss.

First up I made pork soup with red dates and lotus root, then it was Red bean porridge, Sushi and lastly Sour L Elixir (what R and I call it because we cool!!! lol :) ) it's basically lime with sour plum!

Now the soup came about because poor K was feeling a little down in the dumps after Fed's shocking loss over Del potro at US Open. I was sad too..so our little sad souls needed some soup!

End Product! Hope it did you some good like it did for me K!

Next up my cousin and I made sushi, he just put whatever he could find into it! While I opted for the more traditional stuffing...The one below has garlic prawn! Simple, just sauteed prawns in butter and added garlic,but end result Yum!!

We couldn't be bother cutting it ..we just made, it rolled it up and ate it there and then! quick,simple easy, yummie lunch!

And we washed it all down with chocolate milk! We are crazy like that :)

Ahhhhhh! and below we have the leggo's beef casserole that Nuffnang sent in it's gift box! nice sauce, very flexible too...had it with rice one day and pasta the next!

I have put on a lot of weight in the last 2 months or so, the bulk of it in the last two months at least. A total of 10 kg's. And I feel ever so uncomfortable!!! Can't bend to tie my laces, can't sit in lecture for too long wihtout having to change my position every few seconds, can't fit into a lot of clothes and unable to breathe properly at times! Its plain annoying. The reason for the weight gain mainly is, number 1 the side effects of the meds I have to take and thus, 2nd Overeating! sadly I was back in good ol Penang when the overeating started...cheap,yummy 24/7 food...NOT GOOD!
So I decided to start healthy eating about 2 weeks ago VERDICT:FAIL!

It all started out well...big healthy breakfast...moderate lunch ( so no snacking inbetween)...fruits and veggies for dinner,cut out heaps of carbs,switched to brown bread

Salmon and sprouts sandwich for lunch

Good portion of meat high in iron,heaps of veggies (brunch, so no lunch or snacks after this meal till dinner)

Then I began to slip! it all started with a lunch party...a small slither not even slice of chocolate cake and sticky date pudding and GOODBYE healthy food. My tastebuds did a little dance of joy and from then on refused to settle for anything less!

And didn't seem to stop

Well OK sushi might not look bad..but it is when overdone! too much carbs from the sticky rice! the 1st dish on top was soft shell crab with omellete on rice...and there was so much rice! and I finished every bit! Not proud of myself!

Really hope this coming week I go back to my proper eating. loosing weight healthily is not easy,well I was told not at first for sure, but once it becomes routine,or even a lifestyle it becomes easy! so for now my snacks are going to be celery and peanut better,breakfast bars and fruits..NUTELLA,CREAM CHEESE,MACCAS,RICE, WHITE BREAD all you horrible stuff better stay clear!

Just keep swimming..swimming...swimming!!!

Well let's see we have come up to the part where I went home eh......NO I didn't bum around and have an extra holiday,believe it or not I got a job, the very week I reached penang I started applying and one week later I landed a job at The Northam All Suites Penang! (by the grace of God )

the pay was awesome,the colleagues awesome, and thats about all that is awesome about the Job! EVERYTHING else was definately NOT easy! 6 DAYS a week....almost 9-10 hours a day!

Stressfull,performance based job it was! you had guests on one end and management on the other end to deal with..not a pretty combination. There were days I wanted to just give up but there were more days where I loved the challenge, and it wa so gratifying going through hell to get things done!

As you may know with a job in the hotel industry you don't get much of a social life because of the unsane hours! however I still managed to squeeze in hang out time at night...it was definately the highlight of every week becasue I could just unwind,relax and finally act my age..and be amongst people of my ranks!

I also had 2 weeks of free time once I stopped working before my flight back, so that was a good dose of hang out time and 'enjoy penang while you still can time'!

office wear...I had to go shop for office clothes...needed work shirts,black skirt,coat,black covered shoes..and number 24 stockings! hahhahahaha! oh and the worst part..I had to spend so much on make up!! so not my thing!

International buffet dinner at E&O....ruthy and I must have had about 5 plates of seafood pasta cooked to our preference,heaps of duck...sushi, and moreton bay bugs (the fellow) etc. Not forgetting dessert...stuffed myself silly...

Coffee Island was like a usual hang out spot...anytime we just wanted to chit chat and chill we went there...

This trip was a trip filled with up's and down's. But I am not complaining as it was a real adventure...a time where I had to learn to grow up fast, I learnt more about myself as well! but MOST IMPORTANTLY I got closer to my mum and dad! now that is PRICELESS!

I promise to be quick..

ok lets see I came out of hospital and was just bumming around waiting to go back to Aus BUT! I was not so fortunate...I continued to be illl...was in and out of emergency(public hospital) for about a week....finally my parents said NOPE this is not good and I was rushed to a private hospital after an episode at home...I was in hospital for 3 days and was happily discharged on a friday...however on Monday I was back in and was there for a like 12 days or something.( 1 week of uni had passed)...4 days after was discharged I flew off to Aus back to uni!

Another BUT!

Three weeks in Aus and I was yet again on a plane ...this time coming back to good ol Penang to get treatment because I couldn't cope.

Shaun was kind enough to put on a show for me!

Ok so after a great week-end the very monday after the Sunday we got back home I went to the hospital to get my blood test reults....well I went to a private hospital a about 2 weeks before and the docotor insisted I see a hematologist and get my anemia problem which i have had since as long as I can remember sorted out...thing is the best hematologist in my state was in the public hsopital, I didn't mind though, becase it was just a check up right.... WRONG! My hemglobin was so low the doctor said she was suprised I was walking around..and there was no way I was flying!

Next thing you know my worst nightmare began! I had to be admitted! and in the public hospital there is no chance of getting first class wards! even doctor's parents were waiting! so I had no choice but to settle for an open ward.. oh boy I CRIED and Whined so much! ok Fastfoward.......

In the end I was in there for 3 days...I was allowed to go home everyday for two hours to shower and use the loo! thank goodness!!!

BUT what happens when its 2 am and you need to pee so badly!!!!!!!!!! well you got to go of course... I CLOSED MY EYES HELD MY BREATHE and used the loo..WOW!! what an accomplishment...considering my OCD...yes folks... I have OCD and I used a public hospital ward toilet!!! Well after two blood transfusions, heaps of blood tests,and an endescope and a pile of medicine I was sent home!

As usual I have been absent for a while now...It's hard to believe, but my two weeks home for holidays thus far has been a roller coaster ride...so many up's and down's, more downs! its quite depressing I have to say, so not what I expected coming home. Its like bad news after bad news from some family member or other....but no matter what I still say we are blessed,things could be worse! Hanging out with friends yesterday was definately refreshing and heaps of fun.But looking foward to when my whole family is together, thats going to be awesome! Christmas is going to be good no matter what! And talking about christmas, my mum and I spent the day today working on christmas cards. We made handmade cards for our immediate family, friends got shop ones. Here are the ones we made, it all happened because its so hard to get personalized cards nowdays which are nice and meaningful.

Yikessss!! been away for the longest time!! Firstly it was exams, then I only had a few days before I had to pack up and head home... YUP! I am HOME!

I havent quite gotten into a productive routine as such, still just trying to catch up on sleep and recuperating from what must have been my most stressful semester in uni thus far!(self induced stresss btw)

Ok so folks this is the last post on my mid-sem break. On the week-end before the sem started we headed of to the beach at Surfers Paradise over at Gold Coast. The weather was pleasent,the water was awesome and the company fun. It was all in all a great day.

Semester Break

Yipeee....Sem break is here...well it has come and is almost gone actually...it's unbelieveable how time FLIES! anyways.....this is my first post on what I have been up to during the break. I did some stuff a few days ago, but I am still waiting for the pictures so here is an entry on today's activities.

My cousin has come from Perth and my unlce is back from PNG too, so its been fun fun fun so far. I feel really blessed to have activities to occupy myself duing break.

Well today was like a major FOOD day...from day to night it consisted of food!

Lunch consisted of Roast duck, and Roast and BBQ pork with rice at a place called Little Hong Kong! We dug in so fast that I have no pics. The awesomeness of this joint is that there is free flowing chillies and other sauces. They had sweet chilli sauce, sweet sauce,cilli in soy,ginger,garlic and green chili sauce....it was amazing with the steaming hot rice and meat!

Then we feasted as a family....We had Fried Malaysian Noodles for dinner and Toblerone Cheesecake made by yours truly for dessert!

ok so I am 2-0....yup as the tittle suggeest 1 month and 8 days into it. Sorry for the lateness with the birthday blog.

Well below I have mentioned a little on the festivities with friends, besides that my brother took the family out for birthday dinner at the Belgian Beer Garden/cafe on the day itself.

The restraunt/pub is known specially for its beer. It serves special white(blonde) strong belgian beer apart from a wide range of other Belgian beer. There is no such thing as light beer on the menu. But the place also has the usual bar with the more common drinks on one side and the place is extremely noisy buzzing with chatter as customers are allowed to talk however loud they want to, and the seperation between the dining area and the pub is pointless! So you can actually scream,yell and say anything at all and nobody cares. The place is called beer garden because its famous for its authentic Belgian beer and garden because off to the back of the place is a garden where people stand around talk and drink. Food wise, the place is sought after for its mussels! The menu is limited to a few speciality dishes only. Thus you can be sure each dish is prepared on a more personal basis and is bursting with flavour and quality.

Awesome meal and great company, altogether a very pleasent evening out.Lots of merry-making, laughing chatting and picture taking.One of those special occasions where indulging is strictly a must! Pitty not everyone I wished to be there could be there. Oh well reunion end of the year! yay!

aiyayai.... Its been ages since I blogged yet again! well lets see..... I have mid-sem's but I am blogging, why? because I need a break. Just recovered from a week long of flu and fever! yup 4 days in bed feeling horrible. Not a 100% cured but back on my feet which is awesome!

ok so I shall blog about a long gone event. The August Brithdays.....

First up was Navin's belated Birthday celebrated a day after mine,and the girls threw me a mini suprise. 2 weeks later Natali celebrated hers. Here are the pictures.

Is it just me or are you people suddenly getting bouts of excitement just like me at the thought of GOING HOME not being too far away? Dont know why, but eversince Uni finalized End of Semester Exam dates I have these sudden happy and jittery thoughts of "Hey I'm going home in November....yipeee..what to eat!? do??"(can't help it that food comes to mind first.Once a penangnite,always a penangnite)

But the reality is that Mid-semester exams are around the corner and there are lots more of material to cover before EOS exams...bleeehh!!

Alright so somewhere in between that winter break where the friend stayed over, I had orientation ... yup I had to go for yet another orientation! why? because I changed uni's. And its for the last time I promise! hahaha...because finally I am where I have always wanted to be! ok so not always.....but yeah since I was old enough to know all this Uni business. ( voila Jenn there is your answer, that was what the countdown and sneek peak was for.... hahahhaa...not a park and pancakes)

So many booklets and information sheets...honestly how many trees wasted? oh well no choice I suppose. And yup they gave us a lollypop! With uni logo wrapping...weird no? but cool nonetheless.

Alritey moving on.. my aunt decided to kick start my birthday festivities early by paying for my entry ticket to Movie World at the Coast, so off I went after like what? 13 years? Some attractions were way cooler when I was littler BUT I loved all the rides I didn't get to do as a kid! those were wickedly fun!

On another note, did I mention while browsing thru a lifestyle Sunday market with our visiting guest,my aunt was like Prasaaannnaaaaaaa look what I found!!!... and I am getting it for you! hehehe...

Alright I shall continue. Following a hectic,busy, tiring yet FUN filled, adventurous winter break,some of my friends who had gone off to different places to have their break came back.And the very next day I think, we all met up for a lunch hang out session followed by 'Dancing on the street' at Southbank in the city. As usual we were shrieking and laughing and giggling trying to all tell our holiday tales and catch up.
Hmmm lets see then what happened? oh yes then the week-end before uni re-opened my uncle took us to a Chinese Restaurant called Landmark for Yum cha(Dim sum). We had to wait an hour in line to be seated!Yup its that popular! Surely enough the food was good! and the variety was amazing. But it had its flaws..the MAJOR flaw was that the service was utterly horrible!! they couldn't handle the big crowd! On top of that the lunch cost my uncle a bomb! hahahaha...big hole in his pocket!

I have been bad with posts really, a seriously long break. I wasnt exactly on a break, but the total opposite actually. It's already week 3 at uni and its proving to be no walk in the park. Watching the olympics(swimming) as I type this.

ok so I shall begin from the beginning of my winter break which is but a distant memory now. Firstly, our home became a 'hotel' for 3 weeks straight as we had my aunts 2 friends and one friends daughter and my one friend stay over in that span. My friend M needed to bunk over for a night because her homestay peeps went to sydney to watch state of Origin match.

The first week of my winter break was practically slow moving...did very little.However ,starting from yesterday things have been full-on, and it feels good to be running around and doing productive things.

One such thing, productive or not... that I did was bake....nothing great, just made my own stuffing/filling for puff pastry and put it into the oven. I didnt want to use canned fruits, and I didnt want to just go plain chopped fruit, so I improvised with what ever fruit and ingridients there were at home!

Ingridients

We have above diced green apples(skinless), peeled navel oranges(hard outer skin removed), and cranberries

Cranberries with lime juice, vanilla essence,butter and cloves

This is my orange filling envolope. I totaly forgot to take a picture of the oranges cooking. I added all spice and nutmeg to the oranges.

Ok and I am missing a picture of my cranberry rolls. The lack of documentation is caused by my lateness in baking because I wasnt free earlier in the day. I started only at 4.30, and was making them well into dinner time(about 7). So once they were ready I was too excited, and my family members and aunts friend were done with dinner so they attacked the pastry as they came out of the oven. So as I mentioned, I was on my feet till a little after everyone had dinner..so what I did was I put my dinner on a sheet of puff pastry and baked it as well since I was waiting anyways for the others.

Thus we have rice and meat stuffed pastry! it was awesome! the meat cooked further till it was a little crispy on the outside,the rice soaked up flavours from the meat,and coating it crispy buttery pastry! yummmo!!

My aunt's friend had bought a tub of greek youghurt, and that was an amazing combination with the sweet pastry. Can you imagine piping hot pastry with a nice dollop of cold youghurt on a cold night!? hmmmmmmmmm...............

I have to admit freedom is not productive in any way..and I am liking it!

So....exams ended on Friday, and it felt heaps good(although I have a deffered exam 3 weeks from now)

Then 3 of us zoomed of to the city and met up with another friend...and have I told you how adrenaline rush and lack of sleep mix up all together and just make u hyper?? I couldn't keep still..I was laughing,jumping,running and giggling and just talking rubbish! and I was not alone...so together the three newly free students were driving the one sain student crazy.

we had pancakes, found a cosy quaint bookshop, then we hit the arcade! it was awesome...just us four girls going bonkers in an empty arcade(it was close to 11 am) we were screaming in joy....shouting I'm gonnnnnnnaaa win!! eh cheating!!! Help me!!! throw throw!!, whack whack!!,step step!..then like little kiddies we collected our prizes....

Then we hopped unto a bus and had no choice but to keep our hyper-ness bottled up..and as soon as we got off the bus!.....it all came out! did I mention my prize was one of those toy bouncy balls.We began to run around the empty busway/station playing catch! can you imagine!??? we played till the ball went missing. Then we piled up into the car and headed home. Got home at 12 am, feeling more alive and hyper as ever...So I settled for a cuppa and watched Wimbledon!

Sat we hit the city! a few friends and myself.My friends had to buy goodies to take home, and the sales were still on so it was quite fun to go have a look.

The main reason I went to the city besides hanging out, was to buy myself some designer shoes.. yup! me ! designer shoes.I would have never imagined it...but yup I got Kitson shoes for ~~$199~~ $9. And who do I have to thank for this? none other than my kind chocolate-buying brother from a few posts before. He designed the shoe botiques website so they gave him a $150 voucher complimentary. He thought the men's shoes were way too gay so he gave it to me! I was going to opt for a $139 one...although I liked the $199 one....(I had looked up the shoes online before going to the shop) But God is good! they had a 20% on all items! so whopeee dooo da! I got the ones I liked..here they are......

Sunday was nothing short of awesome! ...went to church. But because Chris Hill, a speaker from America had come down service was a combined service with the other branches and held at the Brisbane convention centre. Great Worship, Awesome sermon, and we got a free CD! what more could you ask for?

Monday was nothing as planned,it was supposed to be a great day out with a good friend,but as usual! something had to go wrong....my eyes failed on me, and I was left no choice but to stay at home and revcover from my sore eye. BLeehh! ended up plonked in front of the tv the whole day watching squinting thru one eye.

This post is kind off outdated already..it was sitting under my drafts as I was too lazy to finish. I think I wrote it few days ago....and SO much has changed in these few days! not happy...supposed to be happy but I guess life is not always a bed or roses.

The Irony of the last post...today I was diagnosed with reversible pulpitis, and goodness knows what that is.In lay men terms however it meant that I had to have 6 FILLINGS!!!!!!!!!!! The disastrous thing is that I couldn't sit for my paper today because I was in severe pain. I had made half the trip to uni when I doubled back and got my aunt to take me to the dentist...in pain I had to wait an hour before any dentist could see me. I was at the dentist from 2.30-5. I have always had bad teeth(not like rotten because of candy,but I have brittle teeth. If you shone a torchlight at my teeth it looks opaque)....as my family and even friends from back home would testify to! The thing is I can apply for a differed paper, however in the process I burnt a humongous hole/crater in my dad's pocket...SIX FILLINGS...do the math....

Feeling ultra shitty at the moment! :(

Flowers for the lovely occasion

So happens this year my brothers birthday was coincided with Easter..so it was a double celebration. My bro from Sydney flew down for the occasion and so my brothers had a birthday BBQ with their friends the night before Easter. While they were busy catching up with friends, and celebrating their first birthday together after quite some time ....my aunt and I were busy preparing for Easter day lunch.... I have to say I have never in my life chopped that much garlic!!!! hahaha...I even made two dishes.

Eggplant/brinjal dish I made. Not as good as mum's and grandma's, but it sure finished fast. Thats the pleasure in cooking! for people to enjoy, I get it now.

Service was first thing at 8 am in the morning. The service was solemn yet so beautiful. Kristabelle, one of the church members played a beautiful song on the flute as we had a 20 minute reflection and prayer time during the service. I could see all around me people had tears in their eyes.

Below are some symbols my pastor layed out in front of the alter that reflects visually Good Friday..he was so cute to even include a hot cross bun there among the other things...hahaha.

On a lighter note. After the service we went over to a church members house for Freshly baked Hot cross buns!

It all started with Holy Thursday...

The Passover meal like in Jesus's time..was really a nice experience to be able to have the meal with each part of it explained, so that we could understand why things are the way they are and happen the way they do.

The menu:

We were served nuts and grapes before we were seated and while everyone was still chatting.These two were something commonly munched on in acient feasts.

The food:

I had much more lamb,this was taken as I was distributing my meat away to the others . I had once piece though, and gosh! yummy!! The homemade mint sauce was made from scratch with only natural ingridients, everything was boiled in olive oil! Fantanstic meal actually...and all made by kind hearted church members!

Non alcoholic wine: It was PINK! and yummy!

Dessert: A piece of honey cake..or should I say a chunk! that picture is only half of what was served..it tasted so good! like honey melting in your mouth, and the whipped cream just balanced out the sweetness! Whoever baked the cakes..hats off to you!

Aside from those dished above, we had a boiled eggs, and unleaven bread with two types of dipping. 1.Horse radish and 2. Harosis:made from apples,raisins,figs,nuts,wine and honey.

Each part of the meal symbolized something. Explanation can be found in the 1st two pictures.

In between we sang some songs..and towards the end even did the first communion. I could tell everyone was having their own special moment.The atmosphere(dark-ish with soft light from the candles, with the smell of freshly roasted lamb,and thoughts of Jesus's last meal) sure helped to set the right mood.

And I just admire how well oiled and close knit the church can be. As soon as everything was over, everyone could be seen busy helping to clear up.From washing and drying the utensils and plates, to sweeping the floor and putting the tables and chairs away. Then when all was done zap! the lights went out! hahahaha...in total darkness everyone said their goodbyes, exhanged hugs and left to their repective homes!

F1 is back!! and the first race kicked of at Melbourne Grand Prix Circut, Albert Park. What an awful race! how awful?? so awful that Ferrari got 0 points!!! and Hamilton got poll!!

I wonder why the race was so jinxed! only 8 cars remained towards the end, witm Kimi retiring due to engine failure. Was it because transmission rules were changed? and the drivers were not used to the challenging corners of the track?? who knows...it only means one thing though...DRIVERS you need to turn on your skills full on!!!

Some highlights. Good and Bad:
1. Same as mentioned above..only 8 cars finished the race!!! when 22 started!

2. Kimi from 11th place gets to 8th and soon he is racing behind Kovalainen ready to take over for second place ...he does ..and bam! too sharp so he goes into the gravel, without smashing into the wall he continues at the back of the pack in 11th place AGAIN!! he continues driving and just as he is to over take Glock...he makes another mistake and he swerves off again! poor guy..wonder what was wrong! finally in the end as he tried his best and pushed the car to get back into a decent position...nothing worked ,the car failed him..he had to retire so that Ferrari could get new gears and an engine without incurring penalties for the next race.

3.Race kicks off and Massa spins and he looses his spot. Later on he collides with Coulthard...and boy did Coulthard get pissed! as the commentator said his 'colourful' language says it all! and his car was damaged real bad! However Massa speeds on without problems at first but soon retires and pays the price for colliding.

4. The safety car came out 3 TIMES!!! yup 3! commentator made a good point yet again ' cars were dropping like flies' on that day. And two out of the 3 times the safety car came out, Kimi had a chance to redeem himself, but he failed both times! I was jumping up and down by this time!

5. Barrichello nearly injured one of the pit members, all thanks to the lollypop man who lifted the lollypop up tooooo fast! wooosh! the fuel pipe came out and the pit crew went wham! on the ground. No worries he survived.To make matters worse, poor Barri got a penalty for the pit stop he made when the mishap happened was too soon after the safety car came out..he was in 4th!!!!! but thanks to the penalty he was behind Kimi in 8th when he rejoined. Than they said he(Barri) ran a red light when coming out of the pit lane!! what is wrong with honda's communication!?

6. Towards the end of the race Glock goes for a movie stunt material/James Bond movie worthy crash! wham! into the curb...lifts off the ground and bounces nicely back on the track hard. His car was in bits!! debry everywhere! he is soooo lucky he did not spin over! poor guy was shocked beyond belief I am sure, having been shaken that bad!

7.The new Frenchy(Allez France!!!) Bourdais was racing beautifully!but thanks to his car (sad to say it was a Ferrari engine) that failed on him, he had to retire too!! "Mais tu conduit tres bien Bourdais! ma felicitations!!!" Kubica was racing well too, till the teams stratergy failed and the car zonked out.

8. The funniest and awesome-est takeover sequence..hahahahaa happened. After being at each others necks for quite a few laps,Kovalainen(Mclaren's new driver who took over Alonso's place) takes over Alonso (the camera immediately zooms into the Mclaren booth,ppl were clapping and cheering) BUT.. Alonso over takes just mere seconds later!!(they did not show the Mclaren team's reaction this time) you would have had to see it to believe how good it was and how funny!!

9. And of course Rosberg and Heidfeld did awesome jobs!!! showed skills! They deserved to be on that podium! they stuck it out good!

And while all this was happening on the track throughout the race do you think Hamilton knew anything!!?? no way!!! he was leading from start to finish!! he was driving in his own world in his own race!!! DAMN!!

So we stayed at Rainbow Bay for two nights. Rainbow Bay is one of the closest gateways to Fraser Island.

An amazing experience..driving on the beach! during low tide of course...

Then the weather turned!! when we left in the evening it rained...and the tiede was coming up ..and we were like zooming off the island as fast as we could!!

Just 5 days or so after our trip..a storm alert hit the island..and everyone was asked ot evacuate, we were lucky!

All in all it was a very nice trip..so different from our usual trips..this was anail bitting, adrenaline filled and sore butt kinda trip!

Ice skating is so much of fun! Glad the uni organised the night out for us students and staff and their kids. We didnt let the stats mid-sem exam(morning paper) which we were to sit for the day after the ice skating stop us from having fun! Although the next day those who fell on the ice came to uni with bruises and cuts, and some of us with muscle pulls and sore feet we wanted to go again!! and of course no outing is complete without a whole lot of pics...here are some...

Meals on Wheels

Since I bum around most of the time.........My aunt asked me to join her on her meals on wheels project today morning. Meals on wheels is a community project where volunteers deliver cooked meals to elderly people everyday by car. The meals are prepared at the community centre kitchen and then the food is packed up in thermos bags and off the volunteers go and deliver the food to the elderly ppl whom have signed up as recievers. Some of them are so old, they can't even walk to the door. They are in their late 80's early 90's some of them.Although its an everyday thing, my aunt volunteers once a month....every first Monday of the month is her shift. I had fun bringing some joy to the elderly, and making sure they are fed for the day!

The food: Main Course( not sure what it was) soup,Dessert(sticky date pudding and custard) and apple or orange juice

Some houses we went to we delivered two meals, for husband and wife(so sweet,old couple still living together after soooooo many years). The elderly ppl could even choose special meals. E.g. soft diet, vegetarian,no seafood and so on.

Lately I have been disappointed at how I prove to be an unfit person time and time again....SO I decided to do something about it...........

Voila a bicycle!.....I actually didn't dare ask my mum,not even dad...whether I could get myself a brand new bike. This is because I know my mum would say no as she knows I will ride it the first few days then neglect it,thus wasting money(she knows me too well)...and I didn't want to ask dad because he would say ok and that would make mum unhappy.......however God is good. Out of the blue few weeks back, my cousin's friend was looking for someone to buy her bike. It was too good an offer! the bike was in good condition,and was a nice looking one, so for Aus 20 I couldnt say no! mum was ok with it when I told her, and dad ended up being the sceptical one, as for me, a good bargain always makes me happy.Only thing is, NOW I have to be disciplined enough to ride at least twice a week! then slowly increase it.Have to show mum I am serious.

p.s. must tell myself looking silly in a helmet is nothing as compared to leading a healthy life! hahahaha.

p.p.s. lin I am coming to Adelaide on it next year. Yeaaaa RIGhhTT!!! uphill around my neighbourhood itself I am already struggling!...hahahhahahaa......

Another side of Brisbane

Well since I have come here to Brisbane, I have been in the midst of busy suburbian life, and city life....when my mum came over we visited some nature attractions, and forest reserves and all... but nothing less than a 2 hours drive away from home.But on Sunday, I got to experience nature in one of Brisbane's outskirt suburbs..only about a 45 minute drive from my place. The place my uncle,cousin and I went to was called Logan Village....the place was made up of mostly acreages..so the drive there on its own was nice...seeing nice big farm houses..with vast lands, some with crops..some with cows roaming around, even saw a cute little pony and horses.To see such scenic views and carefree animals roaming around just kilometres away from more developed suburbs and the city itself was cool.(like driving from Penang,Pulau Tikus area to balik pulau kind of thing). However our destination was a plot of land still untouched,very much in a jungle state. My uncle wanted to 'walk' the plot, and really get an idea what the plot he was soon going to develop looked like. Here are some snapshots from the little adventure we three had.........

Beautiful, unique looking tree, one of the trees that cannot be chopped down and must be protected.

At the tip of the plot of land, the trees were not so dense, I thought it was going to be like that all the way, boring trees and thats all, boy was I wrong....

This may look like just grass, however it is actually the kangaroo's sleeping area, if you look closely enough, you can see parts where the tall grass has been pressed down and is brownish in colour.

I remember when I was back home, I used ot wake up on saturday mornings to the pleasent smell of melting butter, and to the sound of liquid sizziling away in a pan....yup! mum would be making pancakes for breakfast!

I suddenly missed pancakes and had to have them..so I called mum up, got the recepie, and made pancakes for brekkie today!

Well I am the lady of the house from today till Tuesday evening. My aunt and uncle have gone of to NZ for a nice 6 nights 5 day fully paid for luxurious holiday! all courtesy of my two cousins, their sons. That was their gift for them in conjugtion with their 36th wedding anniversary and my uncle's birthday. Hope they have oodles and oodles of fun!! The card I made for them.P.s. my uncle requested their wedding be the same day as his b'day so that he will never forget their anniversary..hahaha good one! ( I call them Ma&Pa,coz its like a short form of the actual term in tamil, I couldnt pronounce the whole thing properly when I was little,but till today I call them that)

Now I am finally looking foward to the Christmas holidays, I wasn't at first because I would be having summer school, and have just 12 days of break! but now thats changed, because yeah I have summer school..but! I will have my family with me! Mum and Dad are coming! yup even Dad can come,and not just for 2 weeks,but he will be here for a good one month together with mum. Somehow he managed to plan out a schedule to finish up his current cases,and has arranged to pass on new ones to someone he will be hiring to take over for the duration. how cool!! excited like crazy, the last I saw him was 9 months ago at the airport.
The celebration will really kick off when my brother and cousin come down from Sydney and Perth and join us. So this Christmas My aunt's whole family, and mine will be all together here in Brissie..NICE!

Semester 3

Well the new semester has started! Semester 3 should be good...my Employment Relations lecturer seems nice..you can tell she enjoys teaching the subject.I am happy to do ER because it gives me smth to talk about with my dad! he deals with labour law, so this is his forte. And I feel a little more confident now with my business statistics subject coz the lecturer is darn good! well at least the first lecture and tute was good! he is an indonesian guy ..but he went to highschool in Aus and has been here for 15 years.However he still has this cool indonesian accent, love it!what a change from the usual aussie accent...hahaha crazy I know,but homesickness does a lot to the brain! but thats besides the point, its not the accent, what's cool is he is really good at explaining! and he is super patient,he is the kind of lecturer who teaches so clearly that 50% of the learning is done in class it self....I need this kind of teaching because my weakest sub is math..numbers and stuff of that sort.
Another motivation for me to do well in stats is that I recently found out it is a very good combo with econs.Therefore I shall try my best to do well, I am hoping to put and end to horrible maths marks! enough is enough! for the past 6 years I have not gotten a decent mark in it,because I never CARED! now I do,GPA at stake as well.

ok thats it about semester 3 ..now everything is happy happy joy joy..lets see how it is going in another 3-4 weeks!!

well..besides the sad sad news....there was some ok news that came along ....I got my results for semester two yesterday....and I finished enrolment for my next sem which starts on the 22nd of Oct,such a bummer I have summer classes..when others are gonna go home...dang! hahahhaha. Even some of the peeps over here who will be doing summer classes too are back at home now....lucky ppl...hehehe...I miss mum and dad now coz I guess thinking of not seeing them anytime soon(fingers crossed they come here for christmas) and also the news that I got few days ago has made me think of them so much more..I worry so much of how they are doing...although we talk on the phone..its not good enough sometimes. Anyways, I still believe God is watching over them even if I cant.

ok ok so thats that ..the emo part of this post...hahaha...ok so whats sweet..not? well the little bit of good news was that I managed to not fail miserably in my last finals...although I did not do as well as last sem, mum and dad were happy with my 1 H.Dist. and 2 Dist.'s.. I on the other hand was a little disappointed because I was expecting smth better.. double dang! anyways its over now and it was my faul I did no work harder..so next sem here I come. I am freaked out about next sem as I have to finally face business statistics which is a very innocent name for Advanced MATH!!!!

I was glad exams were over ..and I was relaxing..watching t.v., but the enjoyment of my newly gained freedom from exams,classes,assignments and presentations was put to a suden halt! next thing I knew, the text message that had just been sent to my phone caused tears to roll down my cheeks....although there were tears...I was confused how I felt, there were a mixture of feelings: shock,worry,and sadness,even blankness....
Because I couldn't believe what I was reading... I had to reconfirm..so I scrambled for my laptop and signed into msn, to my dismay..as I started the convo with one of my dearest friends(11 years in school growing up) it hit me ..it was true!! I was not dreaming ...hard cold realisation finally filled my blank head.....

I could not grasp the fact that she lost her mum..her dear mum......the aunty we all knew as the nice lady in dresses who always smiles and talks to us so nicely....the lady who loved my friend so much....why did she have to leave so suddenly we would never know....

But I pray a little prayer for you my dear friend..that in these hard times God will be with you,and he gives you all the strenght in the world...to get up..and look at futre in the face and be brave ....it's hard I know...but it will soon feel better..it might never all go away...but it will surely feel less painful, just hang in there. Remember you have so many ppl who care for you and who are always there when you need them. God Blessed us with shoulders, for others to cry on, to find comfort on ...if I were there I will definately be there with you...to help you through the best I can..but since I am far away...I hope that my prayers reach you.....

My condolences to you and your family....your mum will always be remembered fondly by all who know her.

Back from a long spell of not blogging...been busy with finals, then busy applying for uni's, then just got results yst...so was busy with erolment and all...so now since all that is taken care of, I have a week of break before I start my 3rd sem a.k.a. summer school!! bummer! well lots has happened since the last post ..some worthy of a mention, some not significant at all....its all very Bittersweet..and the bitter part is damn bitter..I am still in shock.........

God has made me the way I am...and I am supposed to be grateful and happy to be ME...however this is not the case right now...I HATE myself, and I am not loving myself for the way I am....which is so WRONG!...coz imagine how God would feel.....

I cant do anything though...coz the feelings just do not permit me to change..I cant pinpoint the problem...could all this emptiness and hatred be due to the fact my heart is empty? and my sould is lifeless because HE is not in there?? not talking to HIM for the past half a year could be taking a toll on me..especially in these new surroundings anc challenging times....although I go to his HOUSE every week....I still have not talked to him, I go and come back without saying a word....there has been no communication what so ever, only when i'm angry..I have so much to say!!!

If I were back home, I would have family and friends to pick me up right away when they see my falling..over here I am falling but no one seems to be able to pick me up, they can only stand at a distance and care....but not lend a hand and help pick me up.....

I am so used to having support and encouragment as well as love being my driving force to keep me going...I do get love and support and the occasional encouragement here..but there is also too much negative energy around me ......something I cant seem to shake of, its like clinging on to me like a leech...

with all the big plans for the future...If things continue to go this way,those plans are best kept in the inner parts of my mind .....as thoughts without hope...simply dreams......

could all this be part of my realization after turning 19..that I finally need to find out who I am really, and set some solid priorities in life..and find a self identity I can be comfortable with?

coming here has been one of the best things ever,such a great opportunity, being lost is just wasting so much precious time.

I MESSED up so bad!!!!!

my marketing mid-term was today....and I not only did badly in the mulitple choice and the short answers, but we were supposed to choose 5 out of 6 and me the idiot!!! did only 4!!! I am so angry at myself!!! I feel so upset....its bugging me ..nagging in my head..this exam was 35%!! gone gone gone!! *whakcshead* i'l know how badly I did next week....haihz

oh my goodness its just so horrible to think how long I have left my blog un-updated, been more then a month I think....sheesh...this just shows how lazy I am!! but then again I have been so caught up in the new semester,trying to get used to all the morning classes and the workload is so much heavier this sem, from last week..all the way up to another 3 weeks ahead I have exams each week,including 3 mid-semester exams!! and on top of it all the never ending pile of assignments and projects....yay uni life! hahahhaha......call me crazy,but I dont mind actually,coz besides all the work, uni life is fun...and eventful....hahaha
Ok so quick update on what has happened:

1. ok this happened like ages ago, maybe more then a month ago... I am addicted to Pool!! yup the game pool...and table tennis!! hahahaa.....been going to uni to play amost every other day,except week-ends of course......even got my bro to buy my friend and I table tennis bats and balls from back home when he went on hols.

2. Nats and I became Dip.of commerce class and Student representatives,and farah became a student rep too!! woohoo!! its gonna be so much of fun,the lunches and board meetings with the management of QIBT/Griffith uni.

3. the new HP book is out....

4. 80% of my allowence is spent on food!!!! yes FOOD!!! so addicted to BUBBLE TEA, SUSHI & DREAMY DONUTS!!! help!!! I need to stop eating!!!(I'm not giving up bubble tea though)

5.letely I am being bugged by a guy who used to be a friend...right now I am trying so hard to avoid him..he has been bugging me day and night with his problems, which to tell you the truth I dont understand because of two reasons, firstly his english is like so uncomprehensible secondly he has difficulty expressing himself properly because he doesnt know how to tell me, and he cant find the words....so he just goes on and on in a long winded manner trying to tell me.And he calls me non-stop and even text-s me too....I might have to change my hp number ...its that bad ok! p.s. I really dont mind helping ppl with ther probs, i'm always there if they need me ..but this guy i think is beggining to fall too deep into depression that his negative energy is falling on me and all those around him..he needs someone better then me to help him, plus sometimes i see that he enjoys it,being so depressed that he doesnt want to change..oh what am I to do?

6. I have realized that the simplest kind of fun is the kind of fun that leaves u feeling good the rest of the day. well I say this because the other day I went to uni to meet up with fatima(who couldnt make it in da end), Krisha and farah 4 lunch, then after lunch and shooting some pool,we went to the floor where everyone was having their lecture, and we just bummed around there..slowly ppl started coming out of their classes,coz they were bored..and we started talking to them..slowly our group got bigger and bigger...and there we were bout 6 of us in the corridor...talking an laughing and giggling like nobodies business....ppl who walked pass were all staring.....we did all sorts of stupid impersonations and all.....so funny and fun...we laughed so much we had to sit on the floor at one point.hahahhaha...

7. I have purple-ish tinted hair...last Sunday I got my hair dyed....its not the crazy bright purple...although its purple dye,on my black hair it became a nice dark rich purple...

8. ok I have to stop rambling and get back to work..more like start work...no work done yet,so nothingto get back to ..hehehehe...my notes for lectues since week 2 onwards is in a mess..all over the place and mixed up..its week 6 already now..better sort that out...ok then.. till next time .....ciaoz!
