My Room

Well I have been here for 5 months now, and I realized I have not blogged about what things are like here...so I shall start wih my room....

there we go ...my room....well by now the fan is replaced by a heater already...hahahhahaa..and oh ya....I am sure some ppl might recognize that pink piggy there...'char siew' hahhaha....my mum acually brought it with her when she came to visit.....

next hopefully I can put up some pics of uni and things like that....have to *snap* some shots

M.E.N.T.O.R.I.N.G.

Well this sem i bacame a Mentor at Uni, what we do as mentors is actually assist new students with everything and anything related to their life at uni in their first sem especially. As mentors our main duty is to help out at O-week (orientation week) we have to help register the new students as they go for their orientation,take pics, set up morning tea, take part in games with them,take them on a tour of the campus and at the end of it all help them enrol in their classes for their first sem and get them a timetable..its really fun because we get to meet so many new ppl from different countries and its a great way to network! some parts of it was hard because of communication barriers...and enrolling was chaotic! coz classes were being filled up so quicky, and some ppl had classes at the weirdest times ever! and they were not happy at all......


even us mentors got along well..and had loads of fun just hanging out inbetween sessions when we were not needed..hahahaha!! the last day of o-week was ended with a BBQ, aussie style, that was good, we were so busy eating and talking we forgot to take pics!! then after the lunch us mentors just hung out in the games area of uni playing ping pong, para para dancing, racing and all sorts lah....it was indeed a great way to spend 3 days of the last week of hols. Although it was tiring it was an amazing experience!!


plus we get some great benefits from doing mentoring:


1. we get so much valuble experience

2. a certificate, and a write up to put on our Cv

3. a Thank you lunch at the end of the sem's mentoring pogramme

4. staff of the uni know how capable u can be

5. A t-shirt and name tag

6. lots of lollies

and so on.......hahahhaha...!! it was good....must do it again next sem

First Day Back

Today was the first day back to Uni.....and it was such a gloomy day to begin with!!! it was raining on and off, and there was a fog hovering overhead. But class ended up being not bad...so many peeps I met from mentoring where there...some peeps from last sem were there too.....the lecturers seemed real friendly and clearly showed that they enjoy teaching the subject.Since it was like a 8.30 a.m. class...having the accounting lecture was so hard!!!!! after like 2 and a half weeks of no classes,today was so heavy!! finished chapter one for acc already! and for acc we have tutorial work questions( 5-10 questions ) every week which are compulsory!!

But I am kinda looking foward to acc this sem, people say its easy if u understand so hope I am not dumb and actually understand it, the so called language of business!...at least since class ends early we get to play ping pong!! addicted to it like back in DISTED days.....!!!


ooo and the day became less gloomy although it was raining because I satisfied my McD craving!! and had bubble tea!!

watched Fantastic 4, Rise of the silver surfer...erm the silver surfer dude was cool, as in looked funky and all, but his powers were kinda nothing great, caused lots of damage, but besides that nth great! I feel the 2nd one is funnier then the 1st one .....but it had such an abrupt ending....like not complete, and like the solution was like nothing ingenius or cool... and it was a super short movie....so if you dont really like the first Fantastic 4, and dont really care what they are up to now then no need to watch! ahahahahaha......but if u liked the first one, and want to know whats happening now,then watch,but dont get disappointed okay!!?? hahhahaaha!!

ooooooooooo ENROLEMENT was sucessful...what a relief....!!!!!! the computer labs at uni were so chaotic from 10 am to about 11 am....everyone was like rushing for good classes and lecturers and had to actually compete with others to pick classes before they were full....thank goodness the enrolement went smoothly ...got it done with 2 tries..others had to do it millions of times, or they couldnt even do it, but now all is settled and set to go for everyone....yipeee!!!

went to Garden City for lunch..then watched Oceans 13 .......it was good!!!!! different kind of job this time ..all about revenge..it was so interesting to see Ocean and his team take on amature-ish, down to earth revenge to a whole new level using cool gadgets ....and schemes...nice plot with a good ending...funny one too....I think out of the three Ocean's, 13 is the funniest..!!!!

Go and watch ppl ! ! ! ! ! ! !

RESULTS ARE OUT!!!!!!!!!!

hmmm....well results were supposed to be out on Friday.(15th June)..which is now actually considering its 1 am already......but!!! they said oh at 12 am you can check on your uni portal the results might be out.....but...!!! at 6 pm..yesterday (kinda like today still for me coz i havent gone to bed yet)....I was just sitting in front of the computer....and I thought..hmm I'll just go on the portal to see if they have any messages about the results, or the new semester...but when I logged on... the page took some time to load..and i suspected smth, I thought okay...its slow..means results are out!! everyone must be trying so its slow.....and sure enough when I went to my page....looked under results..there it was!!!!!!!! staring at me ..!!! I closed my eyes actually...while the page was loading......then after sometime I opened my eyes......
and there before me I saw something so shocking....I was shouting from my room MA...!!! MA!!! MA!!!! (calling out for my aunt by the way) she was happily watching tv.....she was like What??? what??? what??? see no capital letters..coz unlike nutty shouting me ...she was sane....hahahaha !! I went out to the living room and said MA!!! I got 3 Huge Donkeys!!! out of my 3 subs
hahaaha thought she would think I did badly and got D's for my exams...but she knew what I meant ...she saw 2 ppl thru uni before so she jolly well knew Huge Donkeys were HD's!!!! as in High Distinctions..hahhahah...so she got up and started jumping-ish up and down with me....hahahhaa.....then of course I called home ..and reported the news...wow!! what a day!!! i truly Thank God.....it wouldnt have been possible without HIM....and I thank my aunt and uncle...and bro's and cousin too for the support and for peeps back home like mum and dad and other relatives and friends and all for the support....for the motivation and for simply caring.... *waves frantically to mum and dad!!..and sends flying kisses*...

then thanks to all the peeps here at uni...who motivated me..and supported me and just were/are simply such good friends....and classmates......

It was indeed a good first sem in uni and hope the next one will be just as good or even better.....ahhh what a good day..tomorrow is partaaayyyyy!!!! hahhahahha.......

p.s. missing all u peeps back home...esp family..and my dearest friends...hope u guys are doing well!!! take care guys!!! smille always...

ReSulTs.....!!!!!!!!

Arrgghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! resutls are coming out like day after tomorrow.....and maybe even by 12 a.m. tomorrow!!!

It just feels like exams ended a few days ago..and now the fear and anxious-ness is all back!! this time for the results......I so hope I did well...coz so far the sem has been great...the marks I have so far are good....BUT!!!! .....I have no idea how finals went....I wouldn't want to say I was extremly prepared and knew exactly what I wrote..but neither was I unprepared and clueless when doing the papers.....so I'm somewhere in the middle...but hope my results are somewhere above average...like maybe at least Distinctions..and no HD its ok,coz I know I did not attempt the papers with a HD attitude,or amount of knowledge....hahahahaa......no matter what.....my results cannot be below a Credit grade..no way ...or i'll be on the next flight home!!! hahhahahaha....

well today is state of origin match (rugby)..that will get my mind of the results for a bit!!! still havent choosen my side...will it be the Maroons or the Blues??????????

p.s. kinda in a delimma over which subjects to take next sem....and I have to decide by tomorrow.....sighz....I dont like to make decsions....
